| Ever since I can remember
I've been extremely interested in automobiles. I guess it goes way
back to when I was a wee one and went on trips with my dad. To pass
the time we'd play a couple of games, one of which was to see which one
of us could identify the make and year of on-coming cars first. I
had to study cars quite a bit to keep up with my dad. The other game
was that one of us would take one make, the other would take another.
For instance he might take Hudsons and I might take Buicks... more likely
was that he'd take Chevys and I'd take Fords.... then whoever had seen
the most of his brand by the time we reached a hundred or two hundred miles
would win. It took a helluva lot longer to travel two hundred miles
back then than it does now, because all the highways were two lane and
the speed limit during WWII was thirty-five friggin' miles and hour.
Anyway, I became more and more interested in older cars as I grew older.
About fourteen years ago I began to take pictures of older vehicles.
I can really appreciate and admire anyone who restores a vintage vehicle,
but it burns the hell out of my ass to see someone take an old vehicle
and make a "street rod" out of it. Ya'll oughta see just how many
books I have on old vehicles, and I subscribe to "Collectible Automobile",
"Hemmings Classic Car", "Motor Trend", and "Automobile".
The first set of pics
you'll see on this site is of pictures that I've taken. A lot of
them were with 35mm so I've scanned those. More recent one (during
the past six or seven years were taken with digital cameras so their quality
is a bit better. Oh, and be assured that I always keep a camera with
me in the car and will be taking pics of vintage cars or trucks whenever
the opportunity presents itself.
The next update will feature
many, many vintage cars from ads from many long years gone by... plus Rox
has sent some pics of a vintage Italian car... and maybe others will send
some also. If you send me pics, make sure they are large pics of
good quality.
I do hope you'll enjoy
this section and that all my work hasn't been done for nothing. Be
sure to let me know whatcha think.
